M.Sc. in Physics Programme: Admissions (2005)

The Department of Physics offers a 2 year M.Sc. Physics degree programme with the elective courses - Materials Science, Physics of Thin Films, Condensed Matter Theory, Microwaves, Biophysics, Nuclear Techniques, Accelerator Physics, Laser Physics, Non-Linear Dynamics, Astrophysics, Chemical Physics, Physics of Nanophase Materials and Quantum Information. The course comprises of 16 compulsory Basic Physics courses, project worth two courses and two elective courses.

Eligibility
  1. B.Sc. with Physics, Electronic Science, Chemistry, & Mathematics/ B.E./B.Tech.
  2. Those in the final year of B. Sc., B.E., B.Tech. may also apply.
  3. Minimum 50% Marks in the Graduate level degree examination (B. Sc., B.E., B.Tech. etc)
Admission
All admissions are only through the entrance test. However, for the students of University of Pune 50% weightage will be given to the marks in B. Sc. and 50% to their score in the entrance test. For all other students 100% weightage will be given to the entrance test score.
Fellowships
A few fellowships to the deserving students are available.
Details of Entrance Test
Probable centers - Ahmednagar, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Sangli, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik, & Pune. Nearest center will be allotted if the proposed center is cancelled. No T.A.,D.A. will be given in order to appear for the entrance test.
