University of Pune in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune offers a three semester M.Tech (Atmospheric Physics) to train students in the modern numerical techniques used in Atmospheric Sciences to prepare them for opportunities in important sectors as Space Sciences, Meteorology, Hydrology, Agriculture, Oceanography, Aviation, Environmental pollution etc.
The admissions of Indian candidates are through a national level entrance examination. The advertisement is put up in print media as well as on the webpage around March/April. The entrance examination is held in June. The first semester starts around the end of July.

Quite a few fellowships plus book grants are provided for deserving students.
